I wanted to ask you something. Which is... what's your name?
This article title is conjecture. Although the article subject is canon, no official name for it has been given.

A group of hired killers were employed by the Templars for a set of contracts, which were composed of targets in the Izumi Settsu, Yamashiro, and Ōmi provinces of Japan during the late Sengoku period.

History[edit | edit source]

Commissioned by the Portuguese Templar Ermigo and his superior, Gaspar, the group was ordered to assassinate various influential civilians to clear the way for the Templars to take control of their respective communities by replacing them with their own allies.[1]

All the killers operated under different cryptonyms to maintain their identities secret, and received their orders via contracts sent from a ship in Sakai's harbor, which was managed by one of the group's members, the Contractor. These contracts were sent to the organization's mid-level members—the Builder, the Exterminator, and the Trader—who in turn dispatched their subordinates to eliminate the listed targets.[2]

To assist with the contracts and locating potential targets, Ermigo hired his old friend Rufino, a Portuguese translator, whom he kept in the dark about the true nature of the Templars' goals. However, Rufino eventually discovered the truth and, determined to stop the Templars from killing innocents, sought the help of the Kakushiba ikki members Fujibayashi Naoe and Yasuke to recover the information he had gathered. After boarding the ship off the coast of Sakai, the trio eliminated the Contractor and retrieved Rufino's information, only to discover that several contracts had already been sent out.[1]

At Rufino's request, Naoe and Yasuke tracked down and eliminated all the killers who had received said contracts, saving their targets. They also retrieved encrypted notes from each of them, which allowed Rufino to piece together Ermigo's whereabouts at Kashiwabara Fortress. However, fearing the Kakushiba ikki members would kill his friend, Rufino gave them a false location while he went to confront Ermigo himself.[2] Naoe and Yasuke followed him after realizing the deception, leading to a confrontation with Gaspar and his men, which resulted in the Templar's death. Ermigo also perished after sacrificing himself to save Rufino from one of Gaspar's guards, officially ending the Seta River Killers' operations.[3]
