Izumi Settsu (和泉 摂津) was a region of Japan, which comprises today's Osaka Prefecture and some parts of Hyōgo Prefecture.[1][2] During the Sengoku period, the region bordered Harima to the west, Yamashiro to the north, Yamato to the east, and Kii to the south.[3]
The territory comprised that of three existing Japanese provinces: Kawachi being the eastern border; Izumi refering to the central part of the region, which included the city of Sakai, the province's major trading and commercial port; and Settsu, the western part of the region that included the cities of Osaka, Amagasaki, Katano, and Takatsuki.[4]
