Tomita Nobutaka (富田信高; died 29 February 1633) was a Japanese samurai and later daimyō during the final phase of the Sengoku period. He was also the husband of Yuki no Kata.
Biography[edit | edit source]
In 1582, at the Ishi no Hōden shrine in Harima, after witnessing Yuki no Kata and the samurai Yasuke duel, Nobutaka approached the former boldly and professed his love for her. He apologized for his poor flirting skills, though his charm seemed to work on Yuki no Kata nonetheless. The two then walked up to the shrine and prayed together.[1] Following this meeting, the two were wed. During their marriage, Nobutaka fathered two children: Tomita Chiyuki and Tomita Chigi.[2]
