Ōmizo was a feudal domain west of Lake Biwa in Ōmi, Japan.
History[edit | edit source]
In 1582, the Kakushiba ikki member and Iga shinobi Fujibayashi Naoe arrived in Ōmizo to help Rokkaku Katsuhime recover her mentor's teppō. However, at the rendezvous point, Naoe discovered a note from Katsuhime, who stated that she had gone towards Ōmizo Castle to retrieve the teppō herself. Frustrated, Naoe left for the castle to find her.[1]
While visiting Ōmizo, Naoe and her fellow Kakushiba ikki member Yasuke discovered and financed a kakurega within the area.[2]
Behind the scenes[edit | edit source]
Historically, the current city that stands in its place is now called Takashima.[3]
