Takahashi clan
The Takahashi clan (高橋氏) is a Japanese samurai family who were active in Kyoto during the Sengoku period. A branch of the family led by Takahashi Inoshichi operated under the son-in-law of Akechi Mitsuhide, Ise Sadaoki, to exert control over the region. They were eliminated by Yasuke and Fujibayashi Naoe on their way to get to Sadaoki.[1]

Behind the scenes[edit | edit source]
Two of the members, Ichi-hime and Goro, can be spared so long as the player doesn't kill them before killing their father, Inoshichi.
The naming convention of the clan members are numerical in theming. Taro, Jiro, Saburo, Shiro, and Goro means "first" through "fifth son" respectively, while Ichi-hime's name denotes her as the "first daughter". Inoshichi, as the head of a seven person clan, has a name comprised of the kanji for "wild boar" and "seven". The clan name Takahashi is a common surname meaning "high bridge".
