Kazumi (died 1582), also known as the Godai of Wind, was a Japanese shinobi and a former student of the Rokkaku clan's patriarch, Rokkaku Yoshikata.

Biography[edit | edit source]

Initially part of an elite class of the Kōga-ryū ninjutsu school, Kazumi and her fellow shinobi left their mentor Yoshikata after the downfall of the Kōga-ryū. Under Rokkaku Yoshimitsu's leadership, her group soon became known as the Godai Shinobi and forged an alliance with the Shinbakufu, who tasked them to kill the Kakushiba ikki members Fujibayashi Naoe, Yasuke, and Rokkaku Katsuhime.[1]

In 1582, after the Kakushiba ikki helped Yoshikata eliminate the Shinbakufu member Akechi Kagemitsu, Yoshikata gave Naoe a list of his fallen students who were wreaking havoc across Japan, trusting her to put a stop to them.[2]

Following a clue about Kazumi's location, Naoe and Yasuke investigated northern Iga and discovered a trail of bodies leading to Shimagahara Valley. Upon seeing Kazumi, they discovered her playing her flute and confronted her, killing Kazumi in the process. They then acquired the tantō Iron Dispute from Kazumi's personal effects.[1]

Personality and traits[edit | edit source]

In a letter to Akira, she admitted that she did not agree with Yoshimitsu's alliance with the Shinbakufu and only wanted to face and kill Naoe to prove her worth.[1]
