Goto Ginpachi (died 1585) was a Japanese shinobi who served under Nowaki, the personal ambusher of the Japanese Templar Kimura Yukari, in Awaji during the late Sengoku period.

Biography[edit | edit source]

A wood craftsman and hobbyist, Goto Ginpachi worked as a shinobi for Nowaki, one of Kimura Yukari's three taishō (大将, lit. "general").[1] In 1585, following Yukari's death at Iwaya Castle,[2] Ginpachi and his fellow shinobi Ando Masamune traveled along the Trail of the Naruto and based a camp along the path. Worried about his sister Yamane Ichi, he began to write a note, telling her to stay in Fukura Village before they can meet again.[1]

However, Ginpachi and Masamune were discovered by the Kakushiba ikki member and Igan kunoichi Fujibayashi Naoe, who tracked them down after agreeing to help Hattori Hanzō's ally Konatsu in eliminating remaining Sanzoku Ippa members. Thus, Naoe assassinated Ginpachi, along with Masamune, and then acquired his message and the Deathdealer Armor from his personal effects.[1]
