Yasha (died 1582) was a Japanese soldier and a member of the Winter Raiders during the 16th century.

Biography[edit | edit source]

By 1582, Yasha was part of a group of trained soldiers, led by Jinbei, that safeguarded the region Kii, mainly the village of Gobo. However, after some consideration, Gobo's elder banished them without cause to further stockpile their resources for him and the villagers. Betrayed, the warriors became marauders and every winter, they used their skills to raid the region and kill anyone in their way.[1]

When the Kakushiba ikki members Fujibayashi Naoe and Yasuke met with Gobo's elder and local woman Rin, they agreed to help locate and assassinate the Winter Raiders. Following a clue from the Gobo elder, they traveled to Hongū to find any clues of Yasha's former acquiantance, who had gone missing.[1]

At the acquiantance's house, Naoe and Yasuke found that Yasha's contact left a note and revealed Yasha's location to be in a house near Kawakami, Yamato during the winter. From their investigation, they soon found and then assassinated Yasha. They later acquired a naginata, Boreal Wind, and a letter to Jinbei from Yasha's personal effects.[1]

Behind the scenes[edit | edit source]

Yasha may be killed at the Elder's House in Kawakami during the winter or at the Winter Raiders' base, Sandanbeki Cave, with his fellow raiders during the other seasons.[1]
