Takatsuki (高槻市) is a city in northern Osaka Prefecture, Japan, formerly part of the Izumi Settsu region during the Sengoku period.
History[edit | edit source]
In 1582, the Iga kunoichi Fujibayashi Naoe visited the town to help Yaya look for her former protégé Tetsuo, who had stolen a kanzashi belonging to the sōhei's late husband. Naoe found Tetsuo at the local church and chased him to the town's entrance after he fled, thinking she was there to kill him. Yaya stopped Tetsuo and ultimately forgave him for his theft, while Tetsuo also forgave Yaya for abandoning him and causing him to lose his way in the first place.[1]
Sometime later, Naoe and her ally, the samurai Yasuke, infiltrated Takatsuki's castle, looting its chest[2] and assassinating Fujichika Nakayama, a samurai who had betrayed Oda Nobunaga during the Honnō-ji incident.[3]
