Endo Tomoyasu (遠藤 友保; died 1582) was a Japanese man who served the daimyō Oda Nobunaga.
Biography[edit | edit source]
In 1582, Tomoyasu knew who among Nobunaga's servants and soldiers was susceptible to being bought. In exchange for a large sum of money, he provided this intel to Akechi Mitsuhide, who shortly thereafter attacked Nobunaga at Honnō-ji. Tomoyasu was present at the temple and was allowed to leave with sensitive information concerning Nobunaga and his retainer Hori Hidemasa.[1]
Sometime after Nobunaga's death, Hidemasa learned about Tomoyasu's betrayal and the information he was carrying, and tracked him to Kongōbu-ji in Kii, where he promptly killed him. Shortly after, Hidemasa was found by his allies, the Kakushiba ikki members Yasuke and Fujibayashi Naoe, and the trio left the scene to avoid any unwanted attention.[1]
