Assassin's Creed: Black Flag Resynced is an upcoming 2026 action-adventure video game in the Assassin's Creed series. A remake of Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag, it is being developed by Ubisoft Singapore and is set to be released on 9 July 2026 for Microsoft Windows, Xbox Series X/S, and PlayStation 5.
Black Flag Resynced has been remade from the ground up using the latest Anvil engine, resulting in improved graphics in addition to the added story content. The combat is more closely based on that of Assassin's Creed: Shadows. The remake includes enhanced lighting, high-res textures, and a new dynamic weather system. The parkour has also been revamped and updated, and the eavesdropping missions have been modified to no longer immediately desychronize if spotted. Three new officers for the Jackdaw have also been added to the game, each with their own unique origin missions. Pets can also be found and brought aboard the player's ship.[1]

In a June 2024 interview with Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot, published to the Ubisoft website, multiple remakes of Assassin's Creed games were stated to be in the works.[3][4]
Fueled by long-standing rumors, Resynced's existence was proven by a PEGI rating listing in December 2025.[5] In March 2026, Resynced was officially confirmed by Ubisoft with the reveal of a piece of concept artwork of protagonist Edward Kenway and the new logo.[6]
Development was headed primarily by Ubisoft Singapore, the same studio behind Ubisoft's 2024 video game Skull and Bones.[7]
Originally slated for a release before the 2025-2026 fiscal year, it was pushed into the following financial year after the March 2026 reveal.[6] Following the official April 2026 reveal, the game was announced to release on 9 July 2026.[1]
Ubisoft officially revealed Black Flag Resynced on 24 April 2026 with a worldwide reveal showcase,[8] game overview trailer narrated by Matt Ryan,[9] and a world premiere trailer.[10] Prior to the showcase, Ubisoft began releasing a series of teasers on social medias featuring Edward Kenway,[11] Blackbeard,[12] Adéwalé,[13] Anne Bonny,[14] and the Jolly Roger flag.[15] Ubisoft also announced Matt Ryan's return on their socials a few hours before the showcase.[16]

Ubisoft announced several editions of Assassin's Creed: Black Flag Resynced. Players who pre-order receives the Blackbeard's Crimson Pack at no additional cost.
