Preost
Preosts were ranking Order of the Ancients members who composed four of the five branches of the organization in 9th-century England. Alongside their fellow rank, Palatinus, the Preosts held at least one spot within every branch, excluding the Wardens of Relics. In the other four branches, Preosts directly followed their Maegester.[1]
In the 870s, every Preost in England was hunted down and assassinated by the Viking shieldmaiden Eivor Varinsdottir, who claimed their medallions and gave them to her Hidden One ally, Hytham.[1] From the Order's hierarchy system during this time, the rank of Preost seems to have had an equal footing to the rank of Palatinus.

Behind the Scenes[edit | edit source]
"Preost" is an Old English word meaning "Priest." Ironically, this is during the Anglo-Saxon mission in history, but instead of spreading the beliefs of Christianity, the Order's mission was to spread the beliefs of the true Gods, also known as the "Ancients Ones."
