I wanted to ask you something. Which is... what's your name?
This article title is conjecture. Although the article subject is canon, no official name for it has been given.

The daikan of Ōmi were a group of adminstrative officials who oversaw territorial issues and tax collection across the province of Ōmi during the late Sengoku period.

History[edit | edit source]

In 1582, these daikan soon came into contact with the secret group, the Shinbakufu. Together, the Shinbakufu were able to receive funding and resources from these officials while the daikan were able to receive security and protection for their corrupt dealings. At one point, one of the daikan met with Oichi, sister of Oda Nobunaga, who made a deal with her to help the people garner food. However, Oichi's debt grew and soon the daikan introduced her to the Shinbakufu and soon began to steal from the same people of Ōmi she meant to help.[1]

After Nobunaga's suicide in Honnō-ji following Akechi Mitsuhide's betrayal and attack,[2], Oichi finally began to break away from the Shinbakufu and worked against the daikan. Meeting with Nobunaga's former retainer and Kakushiba ikki member Yasuke, she informed him of the daikan abusing their authority and had her personal bodyguard Kuma detail more about the situation.[3]

In Hachiman, Yasuke met with Kuma, who asked Yasuke to help his people discreetly. From his investigation, he killed a drunk samurai working for a corrupt daikan in Azuchi. Traveling there, Yasuke found and killed the daikan and later met with Kuma, who thanked him for his help. Before Yasuke left, Kuma handed him a list of more corrupt daikan to deal with, accordingly.[4] With the help of fellow Kakushiba ikki member and Igan shinobi Fujibayashi Naoe, they hunted down the daikan on the list across the provinces of Ōmi and Wakasa.[5]

From their investigation, Naoe and Yasuke also discovered and infiltrated a meeting at Chikubushima island with the Shinbakufu member, The Wheel.[1] There, they dealt with the Shinbakufu soldiers and also found one of the targets, Izumi Bunzo, and eliminated him.[5] Later, they found and uncovered The Wheel's identity to be Oichi. While Naoe sought to attack, they later heard Oichi's reasons and how she sought to remedy the situation. Although Naoe desired her end, she reluctantly agreed to spare her upon Yasuke's insistence.[1]

After killing of the corrupt daikans, Naoe and Yasuke met with Kuma back at his house. While thanking them, he later introduced them to Lady Nene, wife of Hashiba Hideyoshi. Nene thanked them for their work and how it laid the path for Nobunaga's dream and how she intended for her family to continue the new path. Before leaving, she gave them an amulet, Minogame's Protection, and gold as their reward.[5]
