Hongū (本宮町) was a village in northern Kii, Japan.[1]
History[edit | edit source]
In 1582, the Kakushiba ikki member and samurai Yasuke and his archery apprentice Rin arrived into town to return a bracelet that a bandit had stolen from a local merchant. While there, they spent the day together by eating the village's food and enjoying the arts. In the end, Yasuke and Rin committed to being good friends before she returned to her hut on Mt. Omori.[2] While there, he and fellow Kakushiba ikki member Fujibayashi Naoe established a kakurega.[3]
