Nakatomi (died 1582) was a Japanese daimyō who lived in the Iga Province during the late Sengoku period.
Biography[edit | edit source]
In 1582, Nakatomi, known for her cruelity and practicality, was met with defiance and disobedience from one of her samurai Ibuki.[1] Thus, she ordered Kyobei, Ibuki's best friend, to execute them. However, Nakatomi was lied to by Kyobei, who spared Ibuki's life.[2]
At Hijiyama Fort, Nakatomi learned about Ibuki fighting with the locals against her soldiers. With this, she caught Kyobei in his lie and ordered his execution. Before she could swing her naginata, Ibuki and his newfound ally and Kakushiba ikki member Yasuke broke into the fort and stopped her before she could act. While standing her ground, Nakatomi soon fought against the combined forces of Ibuki, Yasuke, and Kyobei, and was ultimately killed. After her death, Kyobei took control of her soldiers while Ibuki agreed to join Yasuke's league.[2]
