Rokkaku Yoshikata ((六角 義賢, 1521 – 1598), later known as Shōtei, was the head of the Rokkaku clan and fomer daimyō who ruled southern Ōmi prior to his defeat by Oda Nobunaga.
Shōtei's defeat by Nobunaga forced him to retreat to the forest in The Shimmering Fields, where he resisted the Oda clan's rule by establishing an alliance with the shinobi confederation in Koga. Meanwhile, his daughter Katsuhime accompanied her father in his guerilla war and participated in the defense of the Ishiyama Hongan-ji in Osaka.[1]
