Mayu was a Japanese woman who lived in Gose in Yamato Province during the late Sengoku period.
Biography[edit | edit source]
Mayu lived a normal life in Gose and was married until her husband's death at war. In 1582, following her husband's death, Mayu prayed at a local Jizo statue. She soon came into contact with the Kakushiba ikki member and Igan shinobi Fujibayashi Naoe, who asked her why she was praying. When Mayu explained her loss and her idea of a pilgrimage, Naoe offered to visit every Jizo statue across the provinces to help her goal.[1]
When Naoe visited and paid respect to every Jizo statue, she returned to Mayu at Gose. Mayu thanked her as Naoe encouraged Mayu to go on her another pilgrimage herself to start anew. With her newfound hope, she bid Naoe farewell but not after Naoe reminded that she is not lost.[1]
Behind the scenes[edit | edit source]
She is one of Naoe's love interests, but only if canon mode is off. The quest can end with both women having a kiss goodbye before they parted ways.
