Izumi Bunzo (died 1582), also known as The Hoarder, was a Japanese daikan who presided over Kyoto, Yamashiro.

Biography

Izumi Bunzo worked as daikan in Kyoto. Hidden, he was the true master of Kyoto's artisan guilds. He, along with other daikans, later allied with the Shinbakufu to financially aid their endeavours in exchange for protection. However, Bunzo's recent contributions to "The Wheel" were deemed lacking and he was denied an audience with the Shinbakufu member at Chikubushima. Before he could return, he had to prove himself and his worth with his guilds.[1]

In 1582, Lady Oichi's bodyguard Kuma met with the Kakushiba ikki members Fujibayashi Naoe and Yasuke to discuss hunting down the group of corrupt daikans. They agreed to help and began to track down the corrupt officials. Traveling to Chikubushima, they heard Bunzo talking with his guard about their travels and his accumulated wealth as proof for The Wheel. Subsequently, Naoe and Yasuke assassinated Bunzo and acquired the trinket Dragonfly's Cunning from his personal effects.[1]

Behind the scenes

Unlike his fellow daikans in Assassin's Creed: Shadows, Izumi Bunzo wielded no weapon and is easily killed after a single hit.
