Behind the scenes

The achievement Sometimes pokes fun at the common misconception that ninjas always land on their feet when jumping from any height.

The achievement Hook, Line and Swinger is a spoof on the English idiom "hook, line and sinker", an angling metaphor used to denote a subject's unquestioning belief in a claim.

The achievement This is Japan, Actually alludes to the line "This is Sparta!" said by King Leonidas I in the 2006 movie 300 before kicking a Persian messenger down a well. It eventually became popular online up to the point where it became an internet meme.

The achievement Adventurer, its icon, and its flavor text are allusions to the "arrow in the knee" meme from Bethesda Game Studios' 2011 video game The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. It also became an online meme following the game's release due to the fact that the full phrase, "I used to be an adventurer like you. Then I took an arrow in the knee...", is regularly repeated by NPC soldiers who are stationed outside one of the world's labyrinthine dungeons.

The achievement Kofun Raider is a spoof on the Tomb Raider franchise's title.

The achievement Everybody Benefits! and its description may allude to the trouble-prone Kephallonian merchant Markos from the 2018 video game Assassin's Creed: Odyssey. This is his catchphrase, and upon his meeting the game's protagonist, the Eagle-Bearer, when they washed ashore as an unconscious child, he gives them a piece of bread as if he were feeding a wild animal. In later years, he regularly took to seeing them as a body to perform errands and fetch-quests, much like how some pet owners view their animal.

The achievement Would You Kindly? alludes to 2K Boston's 2007 video game BioShock, where it is a hypnotic trigger phrase for the player character named Jack that compels him to follow any orders issued after hearing the statement.

The achievement Made You Look is a meta-reference to the nature of video games to have treasures hidden behind waterfalls.

The achievement The Stick of Truth alludes to the Ubisoft-published 2014 South Park role-playing game South Park: The Stick of Truth, in which the protagonist intervenes in a three-way war between humans, wizards, and elves all fighting for control over the titular stick.
