Kin-no-suke (金之助) was a Japanese merchant who worked at the marketplace of Obama, Wakasa, during the 16th century.
Biography[edit | edit source]
By 1582, Kin-no-suke, along with other merchants, had joined the Iron Hand's guild, which was using the Imai's name as a cover to steal business opportunities from them. Kin-no-suke worked with bandits, who stole from his fellow local merchants, and then sold the stolen wares in his shop.[1]
The Kakushiba ikki member Fujibayashi Naoe soon came to investigate Kin-no-suke and the Iron Hand Guild as a favor to Imai Sōkun. Finding the bandits at a camp in eastern Wakasa, Naoe discovered a letter detailing Kin-no-suke's involvement with the thugs, enlisting their services to rob and, if necessary, kill merchants on the roads to Obama.[1]
Naoe subsequently traveled to Obama and found Kin-no-suke in front of his marketplace. Standing alongside his guards, Kin-no-suke received the letter and believed Naoe to be one of the bandits. Taking her to the back of his shop, he told her that she must be careful next time or the Iron Hand would kill them. Looking in the back of the shop, Naoe discovered a note detailing how the Iron Hand respected the use of a tea ceremony for good business and how he may already have ties to the Imai clan.[1]
Behind the scenes[edit | edit source]
Kin-no-suke may be killed or spared during the player's investigation. If spared, Kin-no-suke will leave the Iron Hand Guild and work with Sōkun as a mediator for Sakai's "less than savory" individuals.[1]
