The Trader (died 1582) was a Japanese criminal and member of the Seta River Killers hired by the Japanese Templars during the late Sengoku period.

Biography[edit | edit source]

In 1582, the Trader was part of a group of hired killers who were tasked to kill influential locals within the communities of Yamashiro, Izumi Settsu, and Ōmi. Along with the Exterminator and the Builder, she was tasked with overseeing and employing killers for the group's contracts; thus, she gave kill orders to both the Collector and the Stalker.[1]

However, the Kakushiba ikki members Yasuke and Fujibayashi Naoe found out about the killers' plans after helping the Templars' former colleague Rufino, a Portuguese translator, in stopping their kill contracts and saving the locals targeted by the Templars.[1]

After assassinating the Collector and the Stalker, Naoe and Yasuke were able to locate the Trader at her hut north of Seta Bridge. There, they caught sight of her talking with a soldier about how easy it was to set out a contract. Shortly after, Naoe and Yasuke confronted and killed the Trader, acquiring a coded message from her personal effects.[1]
