Watanabe Kinji (died 1585) was a Japanese samurai of the Watanabe clan. He served as a captain under Imagawa Tomeji, the enforcer of the Japanese Templar Kimura Yukari, in Awaji during the late Sengoku period.

Biography[edit | edit source]

By 1585, Kinji had departed the Watanabe clan's domain and traveled to Awaji, where he served under the Templars Imagawa Tomeji and Kimura Yukari. During his time on the island, he came to boast about being a master of dual-wielding katanas, but his boasts garnered him no friends or admirers. With his fellow captains, he created fear and abused the locals of Awaji in order to enforce Yukari's control.[1]

After the Master Assassin Fujibayashi Tsuyu told her daughter Naoe and Yasuke about Kinji, the two Kakushiba ikki members discovered him on his patrol, killed him, and acquired the Wandering Elder Outfit from his personal effects.[1]
