Ukita Hideie (宇喜多 秀家, 1572 – 1655) was a Japanese daimyō who was one of the council of the Five Elders (五大老) appointed by Toyotomi Hideyoshi before he died to rule in his infant son Hideyori's stead.[1] He was the son of Ukita Naoie and spent some time as a political hostage at the residence of Kuroda Kanbei in Himeji.[2]
