Okinoshiroishi was an island on Lake Biwa in Ōmi, Japan.
History
In 1582, the Kakushiba ikki members Fujibayashi Naoe and Yasuke aided Rufino, a Portuguese translator and an old friend of Tomiko, in stopping kill contracts he discovered while unknowingly working for the Templars. After they killed the criminals, Rufino directed Naoe and Yasuke to Okinoshiroishi upon deciphering clues of a meeting between the "Architect" and the "Scholar".[1]
Naoe and Yasuke traveled to the island and climbed atop its tallest rock formation. However, they saw no one there and thus deciphered the message themselves, realizing the true location of the meeting was Kashiwabara Fortress. Bereft that Rufino had lied to them, they left to confront him and the Scholar at the fortress.[1]
