Rokkaku Yoshikata (六角 義賢, 1521 – 1598), later known as Shōtei (承禎), was the head of the Rokkaku clan and the former daimyō of southern Ōmi before his defeat by Oda Nobunaga.
Beaten, he was forced to retreat to the forest in The Shimmering Fields, where he resisted the Oda clan's rule by establishing an alliance with the growing shinobi confederation in Kōga. Meanwhile, his daughter Katsuhime accompanied her father in his guerilla war and participated in the defense of the Ishiyama Hongan-ji in Osaka.[1]
