Wada Koretake (died 1582), also known as The Wounded, was a samurai who served as a retainer to the daimyō Oda Nobunaga during the late 16th century. A member of the Shinbakufu, he was part of the group that killed the Iga jonin Fujibayashi Nagato and took an artifact in his possession.[1]
By 1582, Koretake worked to eliminate the remnants of the Ikkō-ikki in Izumi Settsu, which was led by Kyonyo, the son of the Honganji leader Kennyo.[2] During the effort, however, he was tracked down and assassinated by Fujibayashi Naoe, Nagato's vengeful daughter, who unsuccessfully tried to interrogate Koretake for the stolen artifact's whereabouts in his final moments.[3]
