Depending on the player's choice and recovering all of the clues, if Takahashi Inoshichi is killed first, Jiro will join Taro, Shiro, and Saburo at the garden to avenge their father. Meanwhile, Goro and Ichi-Hime are ultimately spared. Thus, Jiro may be killed on the streets of southern Kyoto or at the secret garden.

Takahashi Jiro (died 1582) was a Japanese samurai and member of the Takahashi clan who lived in Kyoto.

Biography

One of five sons of Takahashi Inoshichi, Jiro and his siblings Taro, Shiro, Ichi-Hime, and Saburo were harshly taught by their father after their mother's passing, except for Goro. Jiro also faced callous at-home abuse from his brother Taro. Under his father's orders, he, Shiro, Taro, and Saburo became abusive enforcers for their clan and attacked Kyoto's locals.[1]

By 1582, Jiro was seen as a monster unlike his brothers from both his father's tutelage and Taro's sadistic behavior.[1] Fortunately, his family's behavior garnered the attention of Ujimasa, an ally of former Ise clan leader Ise Sadatame, who met with Sadatame's allies, the Kakushiba ikki members Fujibayashi Naoe and Yasuke, and tasked them to take down the Takahashi.[2]

One day, a group of soldiers talked about not wanting to be on Jiro's protection detail while one stated that he had left the patrol route note at a bathhouse, which Naoe and Yasuke overheard. Using this information, the Kakushiba ikki members tracked Jiro on his patrol south of Honnō-ji. Ultimately, Jiro met his demise at Naoe and Yasuke's hands.[1]

Personality and traits

Jiro was a remorseless samurai, who carried a katana as his main weapon. His cruel reputation became known from him killing his own guards while practicing his kata. Compared to his other siblings, Jiro was seen most like his father.[1]

Behind the scenes

Depending on the player's choice, if Jiro is not killed before his father Takahashi Inoshichi, he will join Taro, Shiro, and Saburo at their father's secret garden to avenge his death. Meanwhile, Goro and Ichi-Hime can be spared by the player, becoming free of their family's grasp. Thus, Jiro may be killed on the streets of southern Kyoto or at the secret garden.
