An Ao Andon (青行燈), also known as Aoandon, is a yōkai born from the fear of all mortals.[1] Their title translates to the "blue lantern" or "blue light."

The Ao Andon are described as having the appearance of demonic women with blue skin, two horns atop their heads, and sharp teeth.[2]
History
In 1582, the yōkai, disguised as a woman named Chitose, was on a task to meet and claim the soul of Mamushi, a monk-turned-demon hunter, for his disbelief of their kind.[1]
During their travels, the Ao Andon came across a deranged and beastly monk in Kabasaka Village, Tamba. While under the guise of Chitose, she and other villagers were held hostage by the monk, whose appearance and behavior led people to mistake him for the yōkai known as the Taka Nyudo.
