The Kurai Eikyou (暗い影響) were a group of criminals that terrorized the population of Yamato during the late Sengoku period.[1]

History

By 1582, the Kurai Eikyou was formed with the goal of instilling turmoil and panic among the innocents of Yamato, especially at their religious shrines and temples. Their chaotic actions eventually caught the attention of the miko maiden Fuyu of Omiwa Shrine. She then contacted the Kakushiba ikki members Fujibayashi Naoe and Yasuke to rid the people of Yamato of these "spirits."[2]

From their investigation, Naoe and Yasuke tracked down and eliminated all the Kurai Eikyou agents, ending their influence across the province, and then reported back to Fuyu. Fuyu thanked them for their assistance and sent them back to where they had met Kojiro for the first time. There, they found and acquired a long katana, the Whisper of Muramasa.[1]
