Kage (died 1582) was a Japanese pirate and a member of the Pirate Alliance located in Wakasa.

Biography

Loyal subordinate to fellow pirate Samemaru, Kage joined the Pirate Alliance, a group of pirates who raided and pillaged the coastal communities in Wakasa. An avid supporter of his brother, Kage stationed himself on his ship on a lake west of Obama while he shouted out Samemaru's name.[1]

In 1582, the Kakushiba ikki members Fujibayashi Naoe and Yasuke followed a clue about Kage's location from a public post in Obama from Shidō about the alliance and how Kage was on a lake near Obama. Surrounded by his pirate underlings, Kage was ultimately assassinated by Naoe and Yasuke. From Kage's personal effects, Naoe and Yasuke discovered a note that detailed the whereabouts of a fellow Pirate Alliance member Lopo Cruz.[1]
