The Kurai Eikyou (夜鷹組 [citation needed] ) were a group of criminals that terrorized the population of Yamato during the late Sengoku period.[1]
History[edit | edit source]
By 1582, the Kurai Eikyou was formed with the goal of instilling turmoil and panic among the innocents of Yamato, especially at their religious shrines and temples. Their chaotic actions eventually caught the attention of the miko maiden Fuyu of Ōmiwa Shrine. She then contacted the Kakushiba ikki members Fujibayashi Naoe and Yasuke to rid the people of Yamato of these "spirits."[2]
From their investigation, Naoe and Yasuke tracked down and eliminated all the Kurai Eikyou agents, ending their influence across the province. When they reported back to Fuyu, she thanked them for their assistance and sent them back to where they had met Matsunaga Kojiro for the first time. There, they found and acquired the ōdachi Whisper of Muramasa.[1]
