Ichiroa's grave

Ichiro (died 1580s) was a Japanese man and the owner of the akita inu Tsuki-maru in the Izumi Settsu Province during the late Sengoku period.

Biography

In the late 16th century, Ichiro was a widower, owned an estate, and lived with his own guard dog Tsuki-maru. However, his sister-in-law Takako, jealous of his wealth, concocted a plan with her guards and murdered Ichiro. However, Tsuki-maru managed to fight and flee from the scene, albeit wounded. Tsuki-maru was later found by the Kakushiba ikki members Fujibayashi Naoe and Yasuke, who investigated the events and ultimately adopted him as a guard-dog for the homestead.[1]
