Endo Riku (died 1582), also known as The Connoisseur, was a Japanese daikan who governed over Kanegasaki Castle, Wakasa.

Biography[edit | edit source]

Endo Riku held the position of daikan at Kanegasaki Castle. Gluttonous and cruel, he enjoyed feasting publicly in order to shame and humiliate his subjects. He, along with other daikans, later allied with the Shinbakufu to financially support their plans in exchange for protection.[1]

In 1582, Lady Oichi's bodyguard Kuma met with the Kakushiba ikki members Fujibayashi Naoe and Yasuke to discuss eliminating a group of corrupt daikans. They accepted the task and went to track down these officials. Arriving at Kanegasaki Castle, they heard Riku taunting his servants while he ate in front of them. Confronting him, Naoe and Yasuke assassinated Riku, ending his influence over the territory, and acquired a kanabō Barnacle Mallet from his personal effects.[1]

Behind the scenes[edit | edit source]

Out of all the daikans in Assassin's Creed: Shadows, Riku and Gamo Morinari are the only ones to wear armor, but his armor is instantly destroyed after a single hit.
