Yasokichi (died 1582), also known as The Teppō Expert, was a Japanese soldier who was a part of former Bessho clan Commander Genzaburo's unit.
Biography[edit | edit source]
In 1582, after Bessho Harumasa's death and learning of Koshiro's involvement,[1] former Bessho clan commander Genzaburo ordered Yasokichi and his fellow cohorts to kill Koshiro at Kyokaiji Temple. When they failed to kill him, they soon split apart and awaited their next orders. However, their attacks were noticed by Harumasa's killer and Kakushiba ikki member Fujibayashi Naoe, who promised to hunt down Koshiro's former unit members.[2]
Yasokichi followed through on his next directive from Genzaburo to kill a target at Mount Kasagata, which led to multiple witnesses fleeing from the scene. Consequentially, this led Naoe to track down his location at Kaya Shrine. There, Naoe confronted Yasokichi, who was tinkering with his teppō, and ultimately assassinated him. She later retrieved another order to silence Genzaburo's poisoner Akane at Osaka Castle and the teppō Wave of Wasps from his personal effects.[2]
