Fujibayashi Nagato no Kami (died 1581) was an Iga ikki jōnin[1] and father of Fujibayashi Naoe. One of Sengoku period's most iconic shinobi, Nagato trained Naoe to be his equal in battle, despite a promise to keep her safe.[2] He lost his life during the Second Tenshō Iga War led by Oda Nobunaga.[3]

Behind the scenes

Fujibayashi Nagato no Kami was a historical figure and character who will appear in the 2024 video game Assassin's Creed: Shadows. Historically, Nagato was not known to have fathered a daughter, with his only recorded son being Fujibayashi Yasumasa, but in the 16th century, it was not usual that daughters were simply not recorded in the Koseki or family register.
