Fernam Moreno (died 1582), also known as The Teppo Merchant, was a Portuguese merchant and a member of a Tamba silver-smuggling ring during the 16th century.

Biography

By 1582, Fernam Moreno joined a silver-smuggling operation under the leader Mai. Supplied with slaves and meeting with bandits, Moreno showcased his teppō to his potential buyers at Fukuchiyama Castle. However, the Kakushiba ikki members Fujibayashi Naoe and Yasuke met with Lord Hosokawa Fujitaka, who asked for help to dismantle the silver-smuggling ring from his court.[1]

Following a clue from Shinji's personal effects, they acquired Moreno's location at Fukuchiyama Castle. There, they discovered a monstrous demonstration of slaves dead from his teppō and ultimately assassinated him. They then recovered a message from Moreno's fellow cohort Enju to discuss business at Yakami Castle and acquired the teppō, The Trading Seal, from his personal effects.[1]
