Kuki Shinpachi (died 1585) was a Japanese samurai who served as a captain under Imagawa Tomeji, the enforcer of the Japanese Templar Kimura Yukari, in Awaji during the late Sengoku period.

Biography[edit | edit source]

Kuki Shinpachi was impatient to fight with a blade, so he chose to wield a war hammer. A father and a husband, Shinpachi had grown to hate his family. Serving Tomeji, he frequented the paths across Awaji and forcibly kept the locals in line.[1]

In 1585, after the Master Assassin Fujibayashi Tsuyu told her daughter Naoe and Yasuke about Shinpachi, the two Kakushiba ikki members found him during a patrol, assassinated him, and recovered the spare kanabō The Negotiator from his personal effects.[1]
