If you guys want to add info, you should get a good source, then revise the sentence. Both modifying a sentence with a fact no longer supported by the citation or interrupting the sentence like this are not good ways of revising.

Warriors from the Oda clan attack Iga in 1581

The Tenshō Iga War (1579–1581) comprised the two invasions of Iga by Oda Nobunaga during the Sengoku period.[1][2] Oda attacked Iga in 1579,[3] but his army fell into an ambush set by Iga shinobi.[2] Nobunaga met with much greater success when he returned in 1581 with his new retainer Yasuke, razing down settlements across the province and all but destroying the Iga.[3] In a twist of fate, one of the surviving ninja, Fujibayashi Naoe, later joined forces with Yasuke to pursue common goals.[4]

Behind the scenes

The Second Tenshō Iga War is a historical event that will feature in the upcoming 2024 video game Assassin's Creed: Shadows.[1][3][4]
