Yamato (大和) was a province in the Kinai division of Japan which now corresponds to modern-day Nara Prefecture.[1] At the time of the Sengoku period, the province bordered Izumi Settsu to the west, Iga to the north and Kii to the south.[2]

In the 1580s, the province was visited by the Iga kunoichi Fujibayashi Naoe and samurai Yasuke during their hunt for the Shinbafuku.[2]
