Watanabe Kinji (died 1585) was a Japanese samurai of the Watanabe clan. He later served under Imagawa Tomeji, the enforcer of the Japanese Templar Kimura Yukari, in Awaji during the late Sengoku period.
Biography
By 1585, Watanabe Kinji, a member of the Watanabe clan, traveled to Awaji and served under the Templars Imagawa Tomeji and Kimura Yukari. From his time there, he came to boast about himself being a master of dual-wielding katanas, but his boasts garnered him no friends or admirers. With his fellow captains, he created fear and abused the locals of Awaji in order to enforce Yukari's control. When the Master Assassin Fujibayashi Tsuyu told her daughter Naoe and Yasuke about Kinji, the two Kakushiba ikki members subsequently discovered him on his patrol, killed him, and acquired the Wandering Elder Outfit from his personal effects.[1]
