Takahashi Inoshichi (died 1582) was a Japanese samurai and patriarch of a branch of the Takahashi clan who lived in Kyoto.
Biography
Father to six children, Takahashi Inoshichi was a troubled person, but with his wife by his side, he became a better man. However, upon her passing, he became cold, callous, and ruthless to his children. Under Inonshichi's tutelage and his allegiance to Ise clan leader and Shinbakufu member Ise Sadaoki, his once-respected family started to terrorize the community by harassing and attacking the people of Kyoto, to exercise their power over the region.[1]
By 1852, their crimes were noticed by Ujimasa, a friend of former Ise clan leader Ise Sadatame, who corresponded with Sadatame's allies, Kakushiba ikki members Fujibayashi Naoe and Yasuke, about dismantling the samurais' grasp over Kyoto.[2]
Death
By 1852, Takahashi Inoshichi hid himself in the confines of a secret garden west of Honnoji Temple all the while exerting his command over his children to continue their abuse over Kyoto. However, he was later confronted and killed the Kakushiba ikki[1]
Behind the scenes
Depending on the player's choice and recovering all of the clues, if Takahashi Inoshichi is killed first, his four samurai sons Takahashi Taro, Takahashi Jiro, Takahashi Saburo, and Takahashi Shiro arrive at the garden to avenge and face his killer. Meanwhile, his other son Takahashi Guro and daughter Takahashi Ichi-Hime are spared and free from their family's grasp.
