Shorin was a Japanese sōhei who operated in the Kansai region of Japan during the late 16th century.

A master of the naginata, Shorin traveled around the region teaching kata to willing learners. While based at Kuya Falls in the west of Yamashiro, Shorin was sought out by the samurai Yasuke, who accepted a kata lesson to master the naginata. After moving to Kannabiyama in the northeast of Izumi Settsu, Shorin was sought out again by Yasuke, who received another kata lesson from the sohei master.[1]
