Shinobu was a Japanese woman who lived in Iga with her husband Monta during the late 16th century.
Biography
Follow the fall of Iga to Oda Nobunaga in September 1581, Shinobu and her husband fled west to Izumi Settsu. After some time, they arrived outside the homestead belonging to a woman named Tomiko, where they met fellow Igan Fujibayashi Naoe. Monta expressed happiness of her survival and informed her the fate of many of their former neighbours. Naoe then offered Monta and Shinobu to stay at the homestead, which she intended to develop as a community. Monta and Shinobu accepted the offer, volunteering to help out as scouts and gather information for her.[1]
