Amagasaki
Amagasaki (尼崎市) is a city in Hyōgo Prefecture, Japan, formerly part of the region of Izumi Settsu during the Sengoku period.
History[edit | edit source]
In 1582, the Iga kunoichi Fujibayashi Naoe traveled to the city to meet with her aliles, the Ikkō-ikki members Kyonyo and Yaya, so they could plan out their assault of Amagasaki Castle and eliminate Wada Koretake, the Oda clan samurai responsible for hunting the Ikkō-ikki's remnants in Settsu. After being joined by Mitsumune and his men, the group initiated their attack on the castle, during which Naoe killed Koretake but failed to learn the whereabouts of the box his Shinbakufu cohorts had stolen from Iga.[1]
Sometime later, Naoe and her ally Yasuke returned to Amagasaki, where they infiltrated its castle to loot its treasure chest[2] and collect a sake flask for Niwa Nagahide's collection.[3] They also established a kakurega in the western part of the city.[2]
