Chief Cuckoo (died 1582) was a Japanese rōnin and a member of the Kabukimono located in Katano.
Biography
Part of the street gang Kabukimono, Chief Cuckoo was part of the Kabukimono, who were attacking the communities across the provinces Izumi Settsu and Harima. However, the priest Shin'nyo of the Nishinomiya Shrine met with and sought the help of the Kakushiba ikki member Fujibayashi Naoe to take them down, to which she accepted.[1]
Death
By 1852, Chief Cuckoo and his gang were once honorable samurai, yet the war left them lordless and without a home. Thus, they severely attacked the locals to their own whims. Stationed at Katano Oil Trading, the rōnin watched over the storage's resources, until he was soon assassinated by Naoe.[1]
