Aoi was a Japanese shrine maiden (miko) who lived in Ōtsu in Ōmi Province during the late Sengoku period.
Biography
Aoi was an associate and loyal follower of Lady Nene, the wife of Lord Hashiba Hideyoshi. In 1582, following the death of Oda Nobunaga, Aoi served as Nene's contact in Ōtsu to gather information on the Shinbakufu, the group behind Nobunaga's death.
