Oichi (お市; 1547 – 1583) was the younger sister of Oda Nobunaga. In 1567, he arranged for her to marry the warlord Azai Nagamasa, who ruled the province of Ōmi, securing a way to the capital of Kyoto.[1]
Unbeknowst to his brother and his closest followers, Oichi was a member of the Shinbakufu where she was known under the aliases of The Wheel and The Mourner.
Behind the scenes
Oichi is one of Yasuke's optional love interests, though their romance subplot concludes with them accepting they cannot be together. After an emotional parting, Yasuke wakes up the next morning in a room with a cat, with Oichi nowhere in sight, making it ambiguous as to how their final moments went.
