Junjiro (順次郎; born c. 1572) was a former monk-in-training who was apprenticed to Sorin at the Makinoodera Temple in Izumi Settsu. He was the son of the samurai and Shinbakufu member Ido Yoshihiro. He was also a budding artist.

In Late September 1581, Junjiro and Sorin visited Katano's castle, where the boy came across his recently murdered father's body, to his shock. Minutes later, he found the murderer : a heavily wounded Fujibayashi Naoe lying unconscious next to the body of her father Nagato outside Katano Castle. Seeing that she was still alive and the Sorin's insistance, the two brought her back to the temple and tended to her injuries.[1] Naturally, the traumatized boy hated the kunoichi on sight and contemplated murdering her in her sleep at least once, only being stopped by his hesitation and his master. He later pushed his hatred into his drawings, at least one of them showing the kunoichi as a horned demon.

Once Naoe woke up, seeing her suffering and sorrow changed the boy's hatred into shyness, rejection and fear. But after being entrusted by Sorin to remove the young woman's leg splint _with said woman almost helpless in her state showing him trust_ actually changed his mind slowly. To his own shock, Junchiro started to see her not as a demon or murderer, but just someone who, like him has just lost someone precious and was struggling with her emotions. During the months in wich Naoe was recuperating, he attempted to teach her art, showed her a tanuki he liked to observe and repaired her father's tsuchibue wich was broken during the man's death. During that time, he started to see her as a big sister.

Some times after the kunoichi left to hunt down her father's killers, Junchiro was entrusted to Naoe and Tomiko by Sorin, the monk wanting to undertake a pilgrimage and being unable to take a child with him. He then spend his time in Tomiko's homestead, painting and helping with farmwork until his "big sister", recently back from killing Yaita Wakasa and Wada Koretake decided to go back to Katano's castle to answer an invitation sent by Akechi Mitsuhide. He desperately begged the kunoichi not to go back there and fled in front of her refusal, much to her surprise. He later infiltrated the castle and destroyed every proofs of his filiation and others evidences he could find until Naoe, soon after the Honnoji Temple's incident came to save him from Akechi soldiers. Unfortunately, petrified in fear and having lost his trust in her, he refused to follow her with both of them having to be saved by Yasuke who was executing Momochi Sandayu's last wish : finding the girl with a hidden blade and helping her.

Unfortunately, after hearing his participation in Iga's campaign and still devoured by her grudge, Naoe attempted to kill the ronin, but Junchiro, back to his senses stopped her and finally explained to the now horrified kunoichi who was the warrior she murdered in the same castle months before. He also confessed both his past hatred and desire to murder her in her sleep before explaining that he changed his mind at seeing who she truly was. After the crying woman begged for his forgiveness and accepted to work with Yasuke, everything between them started to go back to what it once was, though Junchiro would later confess to the ronin to be still struggling with completely forgiving Naoe.

Sometimes later, Junchiro witnessed the Katsushiba-Ikki's renaissance with Tomiko, Yasuke and Naoe at its command. He would also create said group's banner. With the group being his only family, with Yasuke being an uncle, Naoe his big sister and Tomiko his aunt, he would spend his days happily in the homestead, once playing with the kunoichi new assassin's outfit, much to his "aunt's" chagrin and his "big sister's" laughter.

If Oni-Yuri is recruited, Junchiro will develop a childish crush for her, much to Yasuke's unease.
