Izumi Settsu (和泉 摂津) was a region of Japan, which comprises of today's Osaka Prefecture and some parts of Hyōgo Prefecture.[1][2] During the Sengoku period, the region borded Harima to the west, Yamashiro to the north, Yamato to the east and Kii to the south.[3]
The territory comprised that of three existing Japanese provinces: Kawachi being the eastern border; Izumi refering to the central part of the region and with Sakai being the province's major trading and commercial port; and Settsu, the western part of the region that includes the cities of Osaka, Amagasaki, Katano and Takatsuki.[4]
