Ise Sadaoki (伊勢 貞興; 1559 – 1582), also known as The Fool, was a samurai and a retainer of the Akechi clan during the Sengoku period. The younger brother of Ise Sadatame, he served under Akechi Mitsuhide and married his daughter Tama, making him the general's son-in-law. Through Mitsuhide, Sadaoki served under Oda Nobunaga until betraying him during the Honnō-ji incident as a member of the Shinbakufu.[1]

Behind the scenes

Ise Sadaoki is a historical character who serves as one of the antagonists in Assassin's Creed: Shadows, as a target hunted by Fujibayashi Naoe and Yasuke. Historically, Sadaoki died during the Battle of Yamazaki alongside his father-in-law Akechi Mitsuhide, fought between his lord and the forces of Hashiba Hideyoshi on 2 July 1582. However, in-game, he is killed separately a few days before.
